Townsend Hall Presents - Classic Clapton

30 Aug 2014

Broom Hill Mardi Gras Festival

On the Oxfordshire / Warwickshire border near Compton Wynyates (approx. 6 miles from Shipston-on-Stour).

The second Blues At Broom Festival has a distinctly New Orleans Mardi Gras feel this year. Held in a field on the Oxfordshire / Warwickshire border in a stunning position near Compton Wynyates, this festival sets out to be a bit different and is extremely relaxed and family friendly.

Headline act Chris Hall's Louisiana Swamp Band have a reputation as one of the most authentic Cajun and Zydeco acts around, and conjure up the atmosphere of the swamps and bayous. Other acts on the bill are Rosco Levee and The Southern Slide, Stomp & Holler, The Swamp Band, Hot Wired, and Aaron Keylock.

There is a huge open sided marquee, so if it's wet there's plenty of cover. The food and drink on offer will reflect the theme. The music starts at 2pm. The Festival is a joint collaboration between Oliver Carpenter (Upton Blues Festival / Blues At The Fold) and Tim Porter (Porterhouse Blues, and Banbury and Gloucester Rhythm & Blues festivals).
