Meet the Town Clerk

Georgina Beaumont

At the April '09 meeting of Shipston-on-Stour Town Council, the appointment of Mrs Georgina Beaumont was unanimously confirmed by members of the Council. Describing the appointment process, Cllr Paul Rathkey, Head of the Staffing Working Group explained that following extensive advertising of the position, some 12 applications were received, these being examined against a set of known criteria for the position. Six candidates were invited to interviews. One declined, having found alternative employment and of the remaining five, Mrs Wisniewska was selected as the preferred candidate.

She was invited to an informal get-together to meet all members of the Council and, following confirmation of her appointment, Georgina joined the April council meeting to observe the proceedings and began her new position in May '09.

Georgina grew up in Worcestershire and Norfolk, returning to Shipston in 1976, where she lives with her family. For eighteen years she held the position of Bursar at Stratford Primary School, a position which has given her a wealth of experience and skills which she will bring to her new position in Shipston Town Council.
